Our Mission
Duke City Dog Spa and Lodge was founded to create a safe space for pets that have needs outside of the standard grooming, daycare, or boarding practices. Some animals need low stress environments and we are committed to ensuring a soothing, comforting space for all to enjoy. We work with your pet one-on-one to ensure the highest level of care and curate unique experiences for each individual pet's needs.
We feel it is important to give back to the communities that support our small business. We partner with Animal Protection New Mexico, Animal Humane, and various 501c3 rescue groups in the state as an effort to give back to this community that supports the animals we all love,
We are proudly a woman owned, family operated, LGBTQ small business located in the heart of Albuquerque.

Ally Lenderman
Owner - Director of Grooming
My name is Alysha, many know me as “Ally” I have been in the professional animal industry for over 18 years. My experience spans from working as a veterinary technician, to animal control officer to pet groomer. My goal is creating a safe, calm, caring ,and stress-free environment for each animal that comes into the grooming shop! I also have experience dogs, cats, exotic and pocket pets! I believe that it is an absolute must to have patience and build trust with each animal, thus each appointment is scheduled around your pet and time is taken to ensure they are able to enjoy their time at the shop! Clients, rescue agencies and fosters have stated that I have a talent for working with animals that other groomers have had to turn away due to special needs not being met. I still volunteer with several local New Mexico animal rescue groups and I am more than happy to provide services for those little critters that need a little extra help.
Tanya Jackson
Owner - Director of Boarding & Daycare
My name is Tanya and I am a native New Mexican. I have been in the animal industry for more than 20 years.
I worked in a corporate government job for 10 years and left that career to return to my passion of working with animals.
Having been a vet tech working veterinary emergency medicine, a groomer, an animal control officer, and resort operations manager at a large-scale boarding resort, I have found I have a passion for smaller boutique style pet care. I love to see animals thrive on one-on-one interactions. The small facility allows pet care to have the at home feel and I get to know each guest individually.
I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and utilize this to better understand the needs of pets on a psychological level. My primary interests are in stress reduction techniques and enrichment to promote relaxation and build confidence.
I boarded my senior dog at Duke City Dog Spa and Lodge last night, and they were amazing! They followed her feeding and medication schedule perfectly and were super understanding about her health issues. They even managed to fit her in for a last-minute grooming while she was there! I got text updates with photos, which was such a nice touch and really put me at ease. The staff was so kind and clearly cared about her wellbeing. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to board or groom their dog!
I can't say enough wonderful things about this Dog Lodge. We were in town for the balloon fiesta and needed to board our two little dogs. We've never boarded them before. The two girls that own this business are so kind, so professional and so fun. We went to visit our pups and take them out for a while. When we returned, our dogs RAN back to the facility. They loved it. I only wish they were closer to our home. It was so comforting to know they were happy and safe!!
I took my recent rescue here for her first grooming and couldn’t be more pleased! Ally and Tanya were so gentle and kind to Lucy and made her feel comfortable right away! My poodle/terrier mix doggy is so happy and fluffy now with a nice, clean smell, fur out of her eyes, trimmed nails, and soft, clean coat. I am so happy to have found a low stress, high quality place to get my timid dog groomed. Thank you!
